Jonathan Dwayne Foster

Jonathan Dwayne Foster was born July 24, 1987, and departed this life Saturday, April 4, 2026, reaching the age of 38 years. He was the son of Melissa Foster and the late Bobby Foster.

Along with his mother, Melissa Foster, he is survived by: his sister, Lela Dishman (Justin); and half-sister, Virginia Conner; and two half-brothers, Steven Foster and Bobby Foster; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Foster.

Jon was the kind of person you didn’t forget. With an outgoing personality and genuine smile, he had a way of making anyone feel welcomed the moment they met him. He never met a stranger- only friends he hadn’t talked to yet.

He loved his family and friends deeply, and that love showed in the way he checked in, showed up and cared without being asked. Music was a big part of his heart. He was always sharing songs and finding something that might lift your spirits or say when words sometimes couldn’t. 

He brought light into everyday moments, and his presence made life warmer. The love he gave and laughter he shared will continue to live on in all of us.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 9, 2026, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Grant Roberts Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to: Jonathan Foster Memorial Fund.
