Johnny Dale Bertram was born on April 16, 1958, and departed this life on Sunday, January 14, 2024, reaching the age of 65 years. He was the son of the late Eulan and Christine (Dishman) Bertram.

He married Melinda Morgan and to this union, three children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Melinda Bertram; one son, Johnny Bertram (Amanda); two daughters, Christy Bertram (Terry) and Deana Bertram (Jonathan Slagle); ten grandchildren, Dawson Piercy, Brian, Caleb, Elijah, Robert, Madelynn, Mason, and Willow Bertram, Madison (Cody) Roysdon, and Matthew Butler; and two great-grandchildren, Maggie and Levi Roysdon. He is also survived by:  two sisters, Donna Whittenburg and Carol Parmley; 4 nieces, Jennifer (Scott) Patton, Amy Bell, Andrea Piercy, and Rebecca (Eric) Mink; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Sonny Ray and Ronnie Gayle Bertram; and two sisters, Sheila Mae Bertram and Connie Piercy.

Johnny was a truck driver for Holston Gas and just retired last year.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 22, 2024, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Taylor's Grove Cemetery.
