JOHN PIERCE was born November 8, 1931 and departed this life July 15, 2005 reaching the age of 73 years. He was the son of John Ephram Pierce and Flonnie Worsham Pierce.
He was united in marriage to Ruth Cook and to this union three children were born.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Pierce of Monticello, KY; six sons, Richard Pierce, Donnie Teel, Joey Teel, Rayburn Pierce all of Panama City, FL, Rocco Pierce of Hohenwald, TN and Jamie Pierce of Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Terri Lofgren of Ocala, FL and Patsy Pandullo of Panama City, FL; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by one brother, Jack Pierce of Rushville, IN; and three sisters, Mary Turner and Ethel Abbott both of Monticello, KY, and Mollie Taylor of Parkers Lake, KY; along with a host of family and friend who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by parents, John and Flonnie Pierce; and one sister, Betty Pettit.
He was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1971. His last duty station was at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City. After his military retirement, he continued his career as a Master Baker at Captain Anderson's Restaurant in Panama City Beach for 25 years.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation: Monday, July 18 after 5 pm and Tuesday, July 19 after 1 pm
Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 19 at 1 pm
Interment: Parmley's Grove Cemetery
