John T. Dalton was born September 18, 1962, and departed this life Tuesday, May 5, 2026, reaching the age of 63 years. He was the son of the late Edwin and Lamoin (Denney) Dalton.

He married Shannon Spradlin, and to this union, two sons were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Shannon Dalton; two sons, Harrison Glen Dalton (Grace) and John Robert Dalton (Kaetlyn); and a grandchild on the way. He is also survived by: one sister, Mary Dalton Tucker (Cody); his nephew, Lucas Guinn (Jenna); great nieces, Parker Jeanne and Andie Jo Guinn; and his aunt, Mary Ruth (Denney) Upchurch (Fred); along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

Having the heart of a servant, John served his country in the Army National Guard for many years, and his community as the Wayne County School Superintendent before retiring.

He became a Christian at an early age and was a faithful member of the Southern Baptist faith.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Services will be private for the family only. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
