Joe L. Duncan, Sr. was born September 5, 1936 and departed this life Sunday, October 13, 2019 reaching the age of 83 years. He was the son of the late James Arnel "Arnold" and Annie E.  (Kendrick) Duncan.

He is survived by his children, Joe Duncan, Jr. (Lisa), Helen Sharmetta Duncan-Rucker (Sam, deceased), JoAnn Pugh (Marshall), Tina Duncan Brooks (Randy), and Regina Louise Cobb (Robert).  Eleven grandchildren, Shamare, Maranda, Jordan, Jolisa, Ariel, Cree, Bolen, Retina, Dominique, Vinson and Destinee.  Twelve (12) great grandchildren.  He is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Garth (Cecil) and Sue Coffey; along with a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Arnold and Annie Duncan, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Vernice, Lee, Billy, Mitchell, and Geneva.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 19, 2019 between 12 pm – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Monticello Cemetery.
