Joe Bruce Fairchild was born February 22, 1930 and departed this life Friday, September 23, 2011 reaching the age of 81. He was the son of the late Kirk and Pearl (Bertram) Fairchild. He was united in marriage to Doris Ballenger and to this union 3 children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Doris Fairchild of Monticello, KY; 3 sons, Joe (Vickie) Fairchild and Ricky Fairchild, and Bobby (Anita) Brake all of Monticello, KY; 8 grandchildren, Kimberly (Arthur) Crabtree, Kari (Steve) Sullivan, Jared Fairchild, Kristy Haggard, Josh Fairchild, Ashley Fairchild, Terra Boston, and Orry Brake; and 8 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kenzie, Kassandra Crabtree, Kadence Fairchild, Chloe Haggard, Brayden Fairchild, Terrance and Mariah Boston. He is also survived by: 1 sister, Edna Brasier of Lawrenceburg, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 5 – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 26, 2011 at 1 pm at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Koger Ramsey and Bro. Steve Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.
