JOE DARRELL "DONALD" HICKS was born July 24, 1930 and departed this life January 14, 2006 reaching the age of 75 years. He was the son of the late Marvin and Lora Mae (Catron) Hicks.

He was united in marriage to Wayne Geneva Cooper and to this union five children were born.

He is survived by one daughter, Betty Doss of Monticello, KY; four sons, George Ray (Rhoda) Hicks of Paris, KY; Darrell Gene Hicks of Carlisle, KY, Kenny Earl (Robin) Hicks of Georgetown, KY, and Bobby Dale Hicks of Monticello, KY; six grandsons, Jeffery, Daniel, Michael (Sara), Joseph, Matthew, and Jared Hicks; three granddaughters, McKenzie Nicole Doss, April Hicks and Meggan Hicks; two great grandchildren and several step grandchildren.

He is also survived by two sisters, Betty Jean Padgett and Bonnie Taylor both of Monticello, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Lora Hicks; his wife, Wayne Geneva Hicks; three brothers, Lyle, Wayland, and Wilburn Hicks; and two sisters, Norma Dean Dishman and Elsie Hicks.

He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.


Visitation: Monday, January 16th after 5 pm and Tuesday, January 17 after 8 am
Funeral Service: Tuesday, January 17th at 1 pm
Interment: Gap Creek Cemetery
