Joddy Carrender, age 70, of Parnell, Kentucky, passed from this life and entered into rest on Sunday, August 18, 2019.

He was born on May 26, 1949 to the late Richard and Rilda (Daniel Hughes) Carrender.

He was a retired lumberjack. He loved being outside working with his hands making an honest wage for an honest day's work. He was of the Southern Baptist Faith. He was united in marriage to Reberta McGuire Carrender on December 11, 2010.

He was preceded in death by his son, Johnathon (Johnny) Carrender, both of his parents, and his sister, Doretta Chriswell.

Joddy is survived by his loving, devoted wife Reberta Carrender; two sons, Joe Edward (Debbie) Carrender of Bronston, KY and Calvin (Gloria) Carrender of Somerset, KY; a step son, Cody Poore of Parker, Indiana; two daughters, Misty (Tim) Dobbs of Whitley City, Kentucky and Heather Carrender of Somerset, KY.  He had 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was also survived by three brothers, Bertie (Betty) Hughes, Thurman (Darlene) Carrender, and Tom (Kathy) Carrender all of Bronston, KY; three sisters, Lucy Carrender of Somerset, KY, Norma (Gary) Hardwick of Bronston, Kentucky, and Judy (Clayton) Gibson of Somerset, Kentucky.

Joddy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was a cherished brother, a wonderful uncle, and a great friend. He was truly one of a kind.

Joddy was a big cut up and loved to make people laugh.  He enjoyed sitting with his friends and family, drinking a cup of coffee and reminiscing of the good old days. He loved sitting in his recliner with his dog, Baby and spending time with his loving wife who will await the day that she joins him again.

On August 18 ^th his journey his journey on earth ended and his eternal life began.  He will await to welcome each of us into God's Kingdom with open arms when our time arrives. Life here on earth will never be the same without him.  Until we meet again in heaven.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 22, 2019 between 11am - 1pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the New Bronston Cemetery.
