Obituary

Joann Maples was born March 19, 1944, and departed this life Wednesday, July 27, 2023, reaching the age of 79 years. She was the daughter of the late Isaac and Ruby Pearl (Davidson) Bell.

She is survived by: three sons, Johnny Turner (Jennifer Gale), Jimmy Turner (Janet Louise Whitt), and Chris Turner; one daughter, Tina Young (Johnny); 11 grandchildren, Jonathan Young, Ashley Young, Desiray Rednour, Rebecca Turner, Donnie Turner, Cheyenne Turner, Anna Louise Turner, Marybeth Turner, Johnny Ray Turner, Zachary Dean Turner, and Jesus "Brian" Macias; and 4 great grandchildren, Sophie Button, Skylan Noel Holcombe, Shaylean Shay Holcombe, and Nate Junior.

She is also survived by:  one brother, Johnny Bell; three sisters, Shirley Bertram, Barbara Gregory, and Sharon Moles; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: one son, David Turner; one daughter, Peggy Sue Turner; five brothers, Archie, Jet Ray, Roger Dale, Randy Scott, and Ricky Lane Bell; and one sister, Betty Sue Turner.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 30, 2023, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Monday, July 31, 2023, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Stop Cemetery.
