Joan Hood Koger was born August 1, 1941, in Jamestown, TN, and departed this life March 11, 2026, in Somerset, KY, reaching the age of 84 years. She was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Marva Elaine (Bowden) Hood.

She married Frank D. Koger on October 24, 1959, and to this union one child was born.

She is survived by: her daughter, Sheila Cantrell and son-in-law, Gary Cantrell; aunt, Lowanda Gernt; several cousins, nieces and nephews; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Woodrow and Marva Hood, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Frank D. Koger; and her siblings, Joyce Glenn, Janice Finley, Julia King, and John Tinch.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Graveside and interment services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 2 pm (EDT) at the Maupin Cemetery, Maupin Road, Albany, KY.
