Jimmie Guffey was born December 19, 1933 and departed this life Saturday, August 14, 2021 reaching the age of 87 years. He was the son of the late Miller McKinley and Alice (Guffey) Burris.

He is survived by: his wife, Tammy Guffey; two sons, Jimmie Guffey, Jr. and Jason Guffey; one daughter, Alane Gregory; eight grandchildren, Heidi Moloney, Heather Guffey, Chris Rhodes, Destiny Guffey, Logan Beard, Riley Tucker, Autumn Gregory, and Gage Gregory; 6 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one son, Larry Guffey; one daughter, Deborah Rhodes; one grandchild, Jonathan Rhodes; and one brother, Johnny Guffey.

Jimmie was a proud Army Veteran who served his county faithfully in the 82 ^nd Airborne Division, retiring after 21 years. He was a member of the DAV Honor Guard, Sportsman Club, NRA, and taught Hunter's Education.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.  Full military honors were provided by our local DAV Chapter 105.
