Jimmie O. "Jim" Carter was born July 31, 1942 and departed this life May 23, 2022 reaching the age of 79 years. He was the son of the late Lonnie Odell "Little Bud" and Hattie Estelle (Daniels) Carter.

He is survived by: his wife, Betty Carter; three sons, Ricky Odell Carter (Amy), Jeffrey Shane Carter (Debbie), Daniel Joseph Carter (Ammi Embry-Carter); one daughter, Mindy Renett Sidwell (Randall); eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by:  four brothers, Ben Carter, James "Red" Carter, Ron "Cotton" Carter, and Harlan Carter; and two sisters, Margie Frost and Gaye Tucker; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Lonnie and Hattie Carter, he was preceded in death by: one brother, Tom Carter; and one sister, Betty Stinson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Taylor's Grove Cemetery.
