Jerry Slaven was born May 15, 1955 and departed this life Thursday, October 01, 2015 reaching the age of 60 years. He was the son of the late Earl and Lytha (Dishman) Slaven.

He is survived by: his wife, Alma (Stinson) Slaven; one son, David Coomer of Lexington, KY; two daughters, Jana Slaven-Griffis and Aleigha Slaven both of Monticello, KY; and three grandchildren, Jacob Griffis, Hagan and Shaden Rose. He is also survived by: one brother, Leonard Slaven of Monticello, KY; and two sisters, Joyce Carter of Monticello, KY and Glenna Painter of Hopkinsville, GA; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Earl and Lytha Slaven, he was preceded in death by: one daughter, Amanda Slaven-Rose; one brother, Arnold Slaven; and one sister, Georgia Slaven.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 3, 2015 after 11 am in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Dishman Cemetery.
