Jerry Parmley was born May 27, 1950, and departed this life Tuesday, August 15, 2023 reaching the age of 73 years. He was the son of the late Oliver and Lydia (Stringer) Parmley.

Jerry grew up in the Parnell community and worked as a carpenter for over thirty years.  After retiring, he spent his days farming, gardening and coming up with many projects to be done.  He enjoyed his evenings outside on the porch swing with his dogs.

He is survived by: his wife, Karen Parmley; two sons, Richard (wife Vanessa) Parmley and Jamie (wife Christy) Parmley; one daughter, Cindy (husband David) Phelps; nine grandchildren, Justin Southwood, Jaylee Southwood, Kaitlyn (Tylor) Foster, Quentyn Parmley, Madison (Dustin) West, Savannah Parmley, Dalten Parmley and Wyatt Parmley; two great grandchildren, Kenzleigh Mansfield and Rowen Foster; one sister Nickie Parmley; two brothers, Barry Rook (wife Diane) Parmley and Dale Parmley; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Oliver and Lydia Parmley, he was preceded in death by: his brothers, Rex, Eric, Larry, and Mark Parmley; two sisters, Charlotte Crouch and Janet Bates; and one granddaughter, Ariel Parmley.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 21, 2023 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
