Jerry Steve
Ferrell

Fire Chief and Retired National Guard Army Reserve Staff Sergeant (SSG) Jerry Steve Ferrell's legacy will live on through his family, friends, National Guard and Fire Department brothers…they will take it from here. Steve passed away at his home peacefully on September 22, 2021 at the age of 63 after a heroic battle with cancer. Steve was surrounded by family and friends during his final days who will mourn his passing.
Steve was born on August 8, 1958 to the late Dennis and Doris Evelyn (Kidd) Ferrell. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Joyce Ferrell; three daughters, Tiffany Ferrell (LeeRon Cooper), Selena Horton (Justin) and Kim Weymouth (Josh). Steve had six grandchildren, Gracie, Jace, Brennan, Aubree, Cora, and Eliza who will dearly miss their papa. He is also survived by three brothers: Kenneth, Donnie, and Danny Ferrell; one sister, Rita Turberville.
Steve served his country and community with a true servant's heart. He was a veteran serving in The National Guard Army from 1977-1998. He was a firefighter for 17 years and served as the Fire Chief for 27 years on the Monticello Fire Department.
