Velma Jean Parmley was born May 20, 1932 and passed away February 20, 2015 reaching the age of 82 years.

Her parents were Omer and Stella (Denney) Davis; siblings, Elbert, Parker, Jack and Randy Davis, Ena Houchens, and Antha Stack, are all deceased; surviving are Margie Nichols, Frankie (Teresa) and Freddy (Ruth) Davis.

She married Robert Parmley on January 29, 1949. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1988 reaching 64 years.

To this union they were blessed with 4 children: Karen Parmley Abbott (Jack), Brenda Wright Ragan (Carl), Jerry Parmley (Deleen) (deceased), and Jeff Parmley (Debbie).

Grandchildren:
Allen Frost, Cherre Jones (Lovall), Sheridan Wright (Mary), Mylan Wright (Jill), Louie Wright (Leann), Chris Ragan, Becky Blackburn (Charlie), Renee Kennett (Jason), Travis Parmley, and Ian Parmley.

Great-grandchildren:
Megan McCutchen (Dustin), John and Ryan Frost, Robert Koontz, Dylan Jones, Bethany, Bailey, Jacob, William, Elizabeth, Nathanael, Gabriel, and Andrew Wright, Chelsea, Adrianna, and Seth Ragan, Justin Dobbs, Dillon Blackburn, Tylan and Brinley Kennett, Alex and Bently Dobbs, Sophia and Robbie Koontz, Serenity Parmley, and Haila McCutchen.

She was a devoted wife and mother who saw to the responsibilities of her home and faithfully attended church as long as her health allowed. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 11am-2pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral service will be hold on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 2pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
