Jay Dishman was born May 14, 1953 and departed this life Saturday, September 17, 2016 reaching the age of 63 years. He was the son of the late Elvis Dishman and Nellie Lee (Buck) Edwards.

He married Carol Taylor and to this union of 43 years two children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Carol Dishman; one son, Derek Dishman; one daughter, Teri (Michael) Ballou; and two grandchildren, Amelia Dishman and Brody Ballou. He is also survived by three brothers, Kay Dishman, Bobby Joe Edwards, and Jimmy Edwards; and one sister, Linda Hancock; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Ruth Hancock.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
