Jason Slagle, 87, of Monticello, Kentucky passed away on November 3 rd , 2021. He passed peacefully with his family by his side. He was a wonderful husband to Christine Piercy Slagle for 62 years, who survives along with his children Jason Lynn Slagle (Teresa), Retina Ann Dick (Tim), and Stacy Glen Slagle (Tonya), grandchildren Cortney Jaye (Chadd) Farmer, Evan Kristopher Dick (Pavielle), Joshua Lynn Slagle (Jamie), Olivia Justine Thompson (Dusty), Erin Kasey Dick, Lindsay Jordan Tucker (Andy), and great-grandchildren Allie Naarah Dick, Josiah Porter Dick, Lila Jaye Farmer, Poppy Ruth Farmer, Layla Corbyn Tucker, and Emmett Cole Thompson. Jason made a public profession of faith and was baptized at Keen's Chapel Methodist Church in April 1959, he later joined Parmley's Grove Baptist Church where he attended until becoming physically unable. He completed welder's training in Cleveland, Ohio and took pride in this skill. He went on to work as a welder in construction, pipelines, and various places his skills were needed. He served on the Wayne County Airport Board and was a long-standing member of the Monticello Lion's Club.
Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Moah Slagle and Ollie Mae (Morgan) Slagle, seven brothers, Caleb, Warren, Hershell, Lee, Lincoln, Lester, Fletcher and one sister Dica Mae McGlocklin.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 5, 2021 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by our local DAV Chapter 105.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Soldiers of the Cross, c/o Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home
