Janice Casada was born March 13, 1961, and departed this life Sunday, January 5, 2025, reaching the age of 63 years. She was the daughter of the late Bluford Audrey and Joyce Wilma (Rigney) Baker.

She married James Richard Casada on March 26, 1977 and to this union two children were born.

She is survived by: two daughters, Sara Beth Blakley (James) and Wilma West; two grandchildren, Kiara West and Keegan Blakley; special grandchildren, Tristan (Carrie), Shyanne, Haylain, Maddie, and Gunner.  She is also survived by:  siblings, Charlene Edwards (Roy, dec.), Peggy Baker, Wade Baker (Connie), Tina Daniels (Gary), and Thomas Baker (Delilah); along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Bluford and Joyce Baker, she was preceded in death by: her husband; one brother-in-law; one son-in-law; and her grandson, Dalton.

Janice worked as a C.N.A at Golden Years Nursing Home until her retirement. She was baptized at an early age and was a member of Big Springs Church.

She loved to read, work in the garden, plant flowers, and spend time with her family.  She loved her grandbabies, her family, and most importantly, she loved the Lord! She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 9, 2025, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel.
