Janette Ramsey Oatts was born September 7, 1943 in the Big Sinking community of Wayne County, KY and departed this life Monday, December 20, 2010 reaching the age of 67. She was the daughter of the late James "Jim" and Lola (Corder) Ramsey.

She was united in marriage on June 22, 1963 to Bill Oatts and to this union 1 child was born.

She is survived by: her husband, Bill Oatts of Monticello, KY; 1 daughter, Lisa New of Monticello, KY; and 2 grandchildren, Adam and Haley New. She is also survived by: 1 sister, Geneva Crouch of Monticello, KY; and 1 brother, Oval Ramsey of Monticello, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 5 – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 10 am at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.
