Janet Louise Massengale

Janet Louise Massengale was born May 1, 1949, and departed this life Monday, October 12, 2026, reaching the age of 77 years. She was the daughter of the late James and Eva (Bertram) Tuggle.

She married Gary Massengale on December 5th; they would have celebrated their 56th anniversary this year. 

She is survived by: her husband, Gary Massengale; two sons, Tim Massengale (Jennifer) and Stephen Massengale (Angela); and daughter, Kimberly Farlee (Jonathan); seven grandchildren, Melody Stanfield (Christopher), Chloe Wright (Jacob), Shelby Decker (Dylan), Taylor Massengale, Stephanie Massengale, Gabe Massengale, and Henry Farlee; and one great grandchild, Shepherd Stanfield and another on the way.

She is also survived by: one brother, Danny Tuggle (Kathy); and one sister, Sue Upchurch; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 15, 2026, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Davis Chapel Cemetery.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to: Hospice of Lake Cumberland
