Janet Lynn Decker, (Jan to most who knew her) was born on June 8th, 1967. She left her Earthly life of 55 years the morning of April 29th, 2023. She lived her life as a beloved wife, a caring mother, a doting Nana, a loving niece, and a loyal friend.  She leaves behind her adoring husband of 31 years, Danny Decker. Together Danny and Jan brought into this world two daughters, Brooke Gross and Ericka Decker. With their girls came additions to the family with Brooke's husband, Josh Gross, and also Tommy Craig.  These additions only added more to the family bringing a new chapter of life as Nana Jan to Adelyn, Madelyn, and Hunner Craig and Oaklynn Gross. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and were her absolute pride and joy.  Here to also remember her life, she leaves behind her loving uncle, Mack Keith. To mourn her passing alongside of her husband, children, and grandchildren, she leaves behind a host of family members consisting of sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many true and loyal friends.

Jan was loving and loyal to a fault. She was a person who loved and cared deeply for her loved ones more than life itself. The phrase "to know her was to love her" rings true about who she truly was as a person. She never hesitated to put her loved ones above herself and above all. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Time outside was well spent riding horses throughout the years, fishing, camping, playing with the kids, and just out enjoying a nice drive with Danny. Recently, the two spent some time traveling to see sites they had talked about for years. She was a talented cook. Unknown to many, she was quite the artist and spent a lot of time drawing sketches. She was many things; but at the top of the list, she was an exceptional person who was loved by all who had the pleasure of truly knowing her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 6, 2023, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery.
