James "Dick" Young was born December 26, 1948 and departed this life Wednesday, December 11, 2019 reaching the age of 70 years. He was the son of the late Ephraim and Alta (Russell) Young.

He is survived by: his wife, Brenda Jean (Prince) Russell Young; two daughters, Amanda Pennycuff (Tony) and Crystal Russell; grandchildren, Lizabell Pennycuff, Marvin Pennycuff, Jasmine Greene, Dominique Pennycuff, Taylor Oakley, Dalton Oakley; and great grandchildren, Aubree Greene, Jazzlyn Greene, Brantley Pennycuff, Andre Sturgill, and Ethan Matthews.

He is also survived by: five brothers, George, Charlie, Richard, Ray, and Killis Young; and two sisters, Joyce Tuggle and Betsy Stephenson; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Ephraim and Alta Young, he was preceded in death by: one grandchild, Malcolm Pennycuff; and four brothers, Johnny, Thomas "Pooch", Robert, and Jack Young.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 14, 2019 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Parnell Church of God Church Cemetery.
