James Willard Stinson was born June 22, 1945 and departed this life Tuesday, June 19, 2018 reaching the age of 72 years. He was the son of the late Thomas and Della (Hicks) Stinson.

He is survived by: his wife, Vela (Baker) Stinson; six sons, Daniel (Lana) Stinson, James David (Kathy) Stinson, Randy (Becky) Stinson, John Stinson, Joseph (Deanna) Stinson, and Matthew (Amber) Stinson; four daughters, Rose (Ronnie) Neal, Maybell (Lonnie) McGinnis, Barbara (Billy) Guinn, and Minnie (Bill) Wiggs; 26 grandkids; and 8 great grandkids.  He is also survived by:  one brother, Elam Stinson; and two sisters, Elvie Royston and Thelma Slavens; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one son, James Stinson; one daughter, Regina Lowe; three brothers, William Stinson, Wesley Stinson, and Gleason Stinson; and two sisters, Rosie Franklin and Alvie Crabree.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Old Dishman Cemetery.
