James Edward Perkins, age 66, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

He was born July 16, 1953 in the Rogers Grove Community in Wayne County to Aaron and Zella (Miller) Perkins.

On February 1, 1982, he married, Charolette (Condreay) Perkins. To this 37 year union he is survived by: 3 children, James Leslie (Alley) Perkins, Roger (Kelly) Perkins and Jenny Perkins (Chris Barnett).

He is also survived by: 17 grandchildren, Dylan Perkins, Tyler Perkins, Brad Angel, Austin McFerron, Aubree Rose, Cheyenne Rose, Richard Rose, Avary Perkins, August Perkins, Emily Humble, Brianna Wray, Justin Vaughn, Dustin Vaughn, Riley Barnett, Dannon Barnett, Kaylee Cramer and Sophia Gregory; & expecting his first great- grandchild in February.

He is survived by: 5 sisters, Wilma Moles, Shirley Crabtree, Sinda Keith, Linda Whitaker, and Rosie Bell; & 1 brother, Aaron Perkins, all of Monticello.

He is preceded in death by: his twin brother, John Leslie Perkins and brother, Billy Kay Perkins; his parents, Aaron and Zella (Miller) Perkins; and one grandchild, Adrien Skye Perkins.

He loved to do farm work and helped many farmers in Wayne County and Nicholasville.  He also enjoyed working on vehicles and being with his family whom he loved very much.

James was baptized and attended the Little Community Baptist Church until his health prevented him from going. James will be missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Hurt Cemetery.
