James "Harold" Frye was born September 8, 1925, and departed this life Saturday, August 26, 2023, reaching the age of 97 years. He was the son of the late George and Leora (Martin) Frye.

He married Phyllis Evelyn Reeser and to this union two sons were born.

He is survived by: two sons, Mickey Frye (Judy) and Ken Frye (Gayle); four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by:  two brothers, Thurston and Don Frye; and one sister, Louise Reed; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, George and Leora Frye, he was preceded in death by: his wife of 77 years, Phyllis Frye; four brothers, George, Freeman, Paul, and Fred Frye; and four sisters, Frances Groce, Neta Baker, Helen Denney, and Sue Bertram; and one grandson, Todd Ritterbach.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: House of Blessings or Hospice of Lake Cumberland
