James Davis was born October 10, 1940 and departed this life Tuesday, August 12, 2014 reaching the age of 73 years. He was the son of the late Steve and Henrietta (Marcum) Davis.

He married Ellen Upchurch and to this union four children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Ellen Davis of Monticello, KY; one son, James Allen Davis of Columbus, IN; three daughters, Terry Foster of Indianapolis, IN, Kimberly Brown of Carthage, IN, and Cynthia Marie Greenwood of New Castle, IN; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Steve and Henrietta Davis, he was preceded in death by: his sister, Jessie Ruth Posey.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 15, 2014 after 5pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be on Monday, August 18th at 12:00pm in the Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, IN.
