James D. Mattox was born November 30, 1954 and departed this life Saturday, January 29, 2022 reaching the age of 67 years. He was the son of the late James Virgil and Irene (Gammon) Mattox.

He is survived by:  one brother, George Mattox; and two sisters, Mary Anne Graves and Virginia Rae "Jenny" Chaplin; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: four sisters, Roma Irene Troxel, Freida Mae Troxel, Etta Marie Bates, and Susie Jane Roach.

Graveside services will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2 pm at the Old Bethel Church Cemetery. Burial will be in the Old Bethel Church Cemetery.
