Obituary

The family will recieve friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, July 28th, 2010, from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 29, 2010, in the funeral home chapel.

James H. Boggs was born October 5, 1926 and departed this life July 26, 2010 reaching the age of 83. He was the son of the late Thomas and Amanda (Coots) Boggs.

He is survived by: his wife, Pauline (Clemons) Boggs; 4 sons, James David Boggs of Knoxville, TN, Roy Daniel "Dan" Boggs of Dayton, OH, Chris Boggs of Bowling Green, OH, and Anthony "Tony" Boggs; 2 daughters, Rachel Gayvonne Dale of Eaton, OH and Mary Crystal Marker of W. Alexandria, OH; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. He is also survived by: 1 brother, George Boggs of Dayton, OH; and 4 sisters, Magdalene Mullins of Dayton, OH, Ella Washing of Dayton, OH, Martha Anderson of Columbus, IN, and America Little of Sarasota, FL; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Thomas and Amanda, he was preceded in death by: 1 son, Thomas "Tommy" Boggs; 1 brother, Shade Boggs; and 2 sisters, May Polly and Joanne Calton.

He worked for years at Dayton Tire and Rubber Co, Dayton, OH, until it closed operations. He moved to Monticello, KY where he retired from Oakwood of Somerset where he was a house parent for mentally challenged young men. He loved raising vegetables. He loved caring for Junior and Loretta. He was famous for pulling pranks, a trait passed on to all of his children. He loved God and had a generous spirit. He wrote amazingly beautiful letters.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
