James "Jimmy" Ballou was born September 21, 1952 and departed this life Tuesday, September 28, 2021 reaching the age of 69 years. He was the son of the late Isaac Bradford "Brad" and Dovie Evelyn (Jones) Ballou.

He married Martha Dick on March 17, 1973, and to this 48 year union, two children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Martha Ballou; one daughter, Korisa Ballou; one son, Michael (Teri) Ballou; three grandchildren, Zander Burden, Kaya Burden and Brody Ballou. He is also survived by: one sister, Lela Hunton; and two brothers, George Ballou and Frankie Ballou; along with a host of family and friends who morn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: three sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Burgess, Lona Brooks and Bonnie Pike; and four brothers, Junior Jones, Edward Ballou, Charles Ballou and Donald "Duck" Ballou.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 1, 2021 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

In connection to this service, the City Pool Hall will be closed Friday and Saturday.
