James Alvin Frost, age 86, was born December 13, 1925 in Wayne County, the son of the late Charlie Frost and Nona Barrier Frost Bridgeman.

On January 19, 1949, he was united in marriage to Joyce Brown Frost.

He is survived by: 3 sons, Larry, Jeff (Sandra), Tim (Louise) Frost and 1 daughter, Christy (Chris) Kindrick. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Angi (Troy) McElfresh, Brooke Frost, Tiffany (Brandon) Thompson, Elijah Frost, Seth Frost, Amanda (Joe) Phillips, Harley Frost, Raven (Jordan) Koontz, Megan and Merritt Kindrick; and 6 great grandchildren: Kristen and Kylie Reeves; Landon Thompson, Faith Brown, Ethan and Rylee Koontz.

He was preceded in death by his only sister, Ella Snowdon; and one granddaughter, Brooke Frost.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 20, 2012 from 5-9 PM in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 11 AM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Gideon Memorial Bible Program or to the Mountain View Baptist Camp.
