Hubby Acrey was born March 13, 1920 and departed this life Friday, August 25, 2017 reaching the age of 97 years. He was the son of the late W. G. and Lillie (Thurston) Acrey.

He is survived by: three sons, Keith Acrey, David Acrey, and Chuck Acrey; three daughters, Joyce Hicks, Patsy Gregory, and Judy Ledbetter; 18 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, W. G. and Lillie Acrey, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Mary Helen Acrey; three brothers, Dock Coolidge Acrey, Roba Acrey, and Wendell Acrey; five sisters, Icy Denny, Opal Acrey, Heady Acrey, Nona Ward, and Jessie Acrey; one grandchild; one great grandchild; and two great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 28, 2017 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 10 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Choate Cemetery.
