Howard "Eugene" Slagle was born November 15, 1946, and departed this life June 5, 2023, reaching the age of 76 years. He was the son of the late Elmer Slagle and Stella Pauline (Chriswell) Slagle Winchester.

He is survived by: one daughter, Penny Anderson; and five grandchildren, Bradley Carrender, Casey Carrender, Austin Slagle, Dustin Slagle, and Elaine Slagle (Laney); and two great grandchildren, Brady Rex Carrender and Aubrey Slagle. He is also survived by: four sisters, Pearl West, Darlene Stinson, Virginia Turner and Barbara Roydson; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Katy Slagle; one son, Everett Slagle; three brothers, Glenn Slagle, Johnny Winchester and Lee Winchester; and two sisters, Linda Howe and Thelma Ramsey.

Eugene enjoyed fishing, hunting and gospel music.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 8, 2023, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Old Sandusky Cemetery.
