Howard L. Bertram was born August 2, 1930 and departed this life November 2, 2018 reaching the age of 88 years. He was the son of the late Benton and Sadie (Kennedy) Bertram.

He married Doris Gregory and to this union four children were born.

He is survived by: two sons, Luke Bertram (Diane), Otisco, IN and Mark Gregory Bertram of Charlestown, IN; one daughter, Caroline Bertram Clemens (Russell) of Mt. Washington, KY; 6 grandchildren, Jason Clemens (Candice), Tommy Clemens (Brittany), Mathew Clemens (Tela), Rebecca Struble (Brandon), Lindsey Wolf (Timothy), and Ben Bertram; and 12 great grandchildren; a nephew who was more like a brother, Tommy Bertram (Marguerite); along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Benton and Sadie Bertram, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Doris Bertram; one son, Mathew Bertram; two brothers, Oral Bertram and Martin Bertram; and one sister, Lillian Marshall.

A faithful Army veteran, Howard served his country during the Korean War.

Private family services are planned. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
