Hildegard Anna (Illig) Hancock was born November 12, 1940 in Mannheim, Germany. She departed this life Monday, November 16, 2015, in Chesapeake, Virginia, where she lived with her son, reaching the age of 75 years. She is the daughter of the late Karl Friedrich Illig and Hildegard Anna (Eberhard) Illig of Mannheim, Germany.

She is survived by her four children: Barbara Hancock, Peggy (Hancock) Cox, William (Bill) Hancock, Hilde (Hancock) Hyde, and 8 grandchildren: Thomas Cox, Karl Cox, Michelle Hancock, Christopher Cox, Jenna Hyde, Zachary Hyde, Ryan Hancock and Jamie Hyde. She is also survived by her brother Karl Illig of Mannheim, Germany.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Bertram Hancock.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 1pm at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
