Herman Mounce was born July 25, 1912 and departed this life Monday, October 18, 2010 reaching the age of 98. He was the son of the late Mason and Helen (Jenkins) Mounce.

He was united in marriage to Lonia May Smith and to this union 2 children were born.

He is survived by: 2 daughters, Shirley Bridgeman of Lexington, KY and Ina Foster of Monticello, KY; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Mason and Helen Mounce, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Lonia Mounce; 4 brothers, Roy, Roscoe, Henry, and Willie Mounce; and 1 sister, Zula Mouce.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 1 pm at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Catron and Bro. Nick Catron officiating. Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.
