Herbert "Buck" Wheat was born March 5, 1943 and departed this life Thursday, November 20, 2014 reaching the age of 71 years. He was the son of the late John and Flora (Dixon) Wheat.

He married Carol Robertson and to this union two children were born.

In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by his children, John Ashley Wheat of Bardstown, KY and Leah Turner of Monticello, KY; two grandchildren, Emma Layne and Emory Turner; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 23, 2014 after 5 pm at First Baptist Church of Monticello. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 24, 2014 at 11 am at First Baptist Church of Monticello. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
