Hazel R. Troxell of Monticello, Kentucky was born January 12, 1943, and departed this life Thursday, August 3, 2023, reaching the age of 80 years. She was the wife of the late Charlie Lewis Troxell and daughter of the late Fred Rains and Sadie (Carter) Rains Shepperd.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Brown (Seth); by her granddaughter, Sadie Brown who she adored; and one brother, Jim Rains; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell Rains and Guy "Pete" Rains.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.  She will forever be in our hearts and our memories.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
