Hazel Piercy was born May 24, 1927 and departed this life Wednesday, May 15, 2013 reaching the age of 85. She was the daughter of the late Odie and Ruby (Rigney) Pruitt.

She was united in marriage to Otto Piercy and to this union 4 children were born.

She is survived by: her husband, Otto Piercy; 2 daughters, Mary Catron and Connie Pursiful; 3 grandchildren, William Catron, Anthony Catron, and Rebecca Pursiful. She is also survived by: 3 sisters, Maxine Prince, Dorothy Burton, and Louise Franklin; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents Odie and Ruby Pruitt, she was preceded in death by: 2 children, Anna and Glenna Piercy; 3 brothers, Paul, Hison, and Perry Pruitt; and 2 sisters, Katie Slagle and Lily Dean Pruitt.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 5 – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Lovett and Bro. Gary Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Parmley's Grove Cemetery.
