Harold Lafayette Dunagan was born September 30, 1924 and departed this life Tuesday, October 8, 2019 reaching the age of 95 years. He was the son of the late Montie and Clara (Canada) Dunagan.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Irene Dunagan whom he married on December 21, 1948.

He is also survived by: one son, Gary (Joyce) Dunagan; one daughter, Gayla (Denny) Longsworth; two grandchildren, Joshua Catron and Jared Dunagan; and four great grandchildren, Weston Dunagan, Tanner Catron, Alyssa Dunagan, and Elisha Dunagan.  He is also survived by:  one brother, Donald Dunagan; and one sister, Lynette Polson; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Montie and Clara Dunagan, he was preceded in death by: two brothers, Montie Hugh Dunagan and Paul Ray Dunagan; and three sisters, Nell page, Etherage Shadoan, and Edith Shearer.

He was a WWII Veteran having served in the US Navy on the LST 920 serving in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 14, 2019 between 12 pm – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Monday, October 14, 2019 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by our local DAV Chapter 105.
