IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harold Raymond
Campbell
August 4, 1942 – June 20, 2023
Harold Raymond Campbell was born August 4, 1942, and departed this life Tuesday, June 20, 2023, reaching the age of 80 years. He was the son of the late Odell and Beulah Mae (Gabbert) Campbell.
Raymond was well known throughout the community and garnered much attention by his eccentric lifestyle and his ability to be self-sufficient. His education led him into many endeavors, which included teaching secondary and post-secondary classes in Chemistry and Physics. He later spent many hours of research in Physics summarizing his findings and typing those summaries for others to read.
Raymond was Vice-President of People's Bank and later served as a board member for the Monticello Banking Company.
He inherited the family business and was well known as a landowner and entrepreneur in leasing land for farm crops and in timber sales. Raymond was not a man for making small talk and socializing but loved to discuss the Future's Stock Market, University of Kentucky Basketball and politics both local and national.
Raymond was raised of the Christian faith and professed Christ as his Savior at an early age. He attended several community churches in and around Wayne County. He enjoyed teaching others of his knowledge and love for the Bible. He made many friends by sharing and supporting others in their faith.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-one years; Donna Latham Campbell; three daughters, Brittney Renee Latham, Stephanie Brooke Haynes, and Megan Corinth Latham; and one son, Charles Elliott Latham. He is survived by three grandchildren; Kadance Lynne Latham, Keslie Brooke Latham, and Dawson Maddox Haynes; along with a host of family and friends who mourns his passing.
He will be forever loved by his family and missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2023, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
