Harlan Ogle was born April 20, 1941 and departed this life Monday, December 14, 2020 reaching the age of 79 years. He was the son of the late David Wesley and Novella (Farris) Ogle.

He is survived by: his wife, Helen Gale (Thurman) Ogle; 3 children: Harlan "Todd" (Laura) Ogle, Teresa Lynn (Darrell) Kinnett; and Timothy "Tim" Eugene (Debra) Ogle; 2 sisters, Irene Winnard of Nashville, TN and Dorothy Miller of Brentwood, TN; 1 brother, Bobby Ogle of Columbia, TN; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 2 sisters, Ann Ogle King and Nancy Lindsey; 2 half-sisters, Francis Ogle Lee and Evelyn Ogle Higgins; and 2 brothers, John Wesley and Dave Ogle.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 17, 2020 after 10 am in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 2 pm (with Facebook Livestream beginning at 1:45pm) at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to: Wayne County Public Library Geneaology and the Burnside Christian Church.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time.
