Gordon McFarland was born May 29, 1952, and departed this life Sunday, July 14, 2024, reaching the age of 72 years. He was the son of the late Charles Alexander "C.A." McFarland and Eula (Tuggle) McFarland.

He married Sandra Keith and to this union two children were born.

He is survived by: one son, Trevor McFarland (Chelsea); one brother, Calvin McFarland; and three grandchildren, Opal, Eleanor, and Emilia McFarland; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Sandra McFarland; his daughter, Elizabeth Richardson; one granddaughter, Lily Grace Richardson.

Gordon was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, between 10 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
