Gordon Ray Humble was born April 1, 1971, and departed this life Thursday, May 11, 2023, reaching the age of 52 years. He was the son of Wanda Lee (Abbott) Humble and the late Hamilton "Ray" Humble.

I n addition to his mother, Wanda Lee Humble, he is also survived by: one sister, Tammy Thomas (Tony); and one niece, Madison Rae Bishop (Benjamin) along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

Gordon was a graduate of the Wayne County Class of 1989. After high school he attended EKU, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He was an avid UK fan, loved Nascar, and enjoyed his Side by Sides and ATV's.

Gordon was employed as the store manager of AutoZone in Hazard, KY. He made many friends during his career at AutoZone.

He was a member of Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

In memory of Gordon, donations may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or to the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 20, 2023, between 11 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
