Glyncon E. Garrett was born August 6, 1938 and departed this life Monday, September 14, 2015 reaching the age of 77 years. He was the son of the late Yetmon and Delta (Beatty) Garrett.

He married Nell Richardson and to this union two children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Nell Garrett; one son, Gregg Garrett (Gail); one daughter, Delise Upchurch (Frank); five grandchildren, Ana Upchurch, Yvonne Morgan, Lance Garrett, Drew Garrett, and Brooke Garrett; and three great grandchildren, Reese Garrett, Makenzie Morgan, and Madison Morgan. He is also survived by: two brothers, Garry and Danny Garrett; and one sister, Nelda Copeland; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents Yetmon and Delta Garrett, he was preceded in death by: one brother, Gerald Garrett.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 17, 2015 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 18, 2015 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Lockett's Chapel Cemetery.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to: Lockett's Chapel Cemetery Fund or Gideon Memorial Bible Plan
