Gleason Stinson was born March 3, 1927 and departed this life Tuesday, October 28, 2014 reaching the age of 87 years. He was the son of the late Thomas Abraham and Lola Jane (Brown) Stinson .

He married Betty (Carter) Stinson and to this union 8 children were born.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Stinson; 2 sons, David Harold Stinson and Jerry Dale Stinson; 5 daughters, Sheila Mae Clark, Shirley Maxine Cooper, Gloria Neal, Alma Slaven, and Melinda Hatfield; 3 brothers, William, Willard, and Elam Stinson; 2 sisters, Elvie and Thelvie; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Thomas and Lola Stinson; 1 daughter, Margaret Huddleston; 2 grandchildren, Stevie Blevins and Amanda Rose; 1 great-grandchild, Kaden Neal; 1 brother, Wesley Stinson; and 2 sisters, Rosie Hicks and Alvie Crabtree.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 29, 2014 after 6pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 30, 2014 at 1pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Dishman Cemetery.
