Gladys Parmley was born in the Coopersville community of Wayne County on April 29, 1944. She was the daughter of Zona (Bell) Dodson and Hobert New. She passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at U.K. Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was 69 years of age.

She was united in marriage to Phillip Parmley on August 19, 1967; he preceded her in death on January 13, 2009.

She is survived by: her mother, Zona New Dodson; sisters, Stella Pogue of Monticello, KY and Sharon Morrow (Manuel Morrow) of Eubank, KY; brothers, Bobby New and Tommy New both of Monticello, KY; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who mourn her passing.

Gladys was a member of the Parnell Methodist Church, where she remained a member until her death.

She enjoyed life and always had a smile for everyone. She enjoyed visiting her relatives, communicating on her video phone with friends and the company of her special dog. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 11am - 3pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 3pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Bro. Rondle Bell officiating. Burial will be in Parnell Methodist Church Cemetery.
