Gilbert Kennedy was born June 9, 1920 and departed this life Wednesday, October 7, 2009 reaching the age of 89 years. He was the son of the late German Gordon and Mollie (Lowe) Kennedy.

He was united in marriage to Georgia Lee and to this union 6 children were born.

He is survived by: 2 sons, William Bruce Kennedy of Monticello, KY and Jerry Ben Kennedy of Hartford City, IN, 4 daughters, Donna Neal, Mollie Koontz, Patsy Perdue, and Polly Stinson all of Monticello, KY, 7 grandchildren, David Neal, Jr., Anthony Neal, Janice Vitatoe, Mary Jo Cross, Tasha Stamper, Beth Stinson, and Mckenzie Stinson, 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by: 1 brother, Randolph Kennedy, of Spiceland, IN and 1 sister, Pansy Pyles of New Castle, IN; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, German and Mollie Kennedy, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Georgia Kennedy, 1 grandchild, Delina Denney, 4 brothers, Garland, James, Melvin, and Gordon Kennedy, and 4 sisters, Vera Upchurch, Edith Lester, Laura Crabtree, and Juanita Catron.

He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.


Visitation: Friday, October 9th after 5 pm
Funeral Service: Saturday, October 10th at 10 am
Interment: Gap Creek Batist Church Cemetery
