Obituary
Gertrude "Gertie" Sexton Hammond was born June 23, 1921 and departed this life Friday, October 24, 2008 reaching the age of 87 years. She was the daughter of the late Sherman Sexton and Myrtie Hammond.
She is survived by: 1 son- Curtis Sexton of Monticello, KY, 1 daughter- Betty Jean Criswell of Monticello, KY, 2 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. She is also survived by: 2 sisters- Gladys Tucker and Evalee Riddle both of Monticello, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: 5 brothers- Alvin, Dewey, Jim, Willy, and Obie Sexton, 1 sister- Martha Godsey, and 1 grandchild.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation: Saturday, October 25th between 5 - 9 pm
Funeral Service: Sunday, October 26th at 2 pm
Interment: Clay Hill Baptist Church Cemetery
