Geraldine Lovell Guffey was born February 27, 1941, and departed for home triumphant on Saturday, May 27, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Jessie Lovell of Betsey Community.

She was the wife of Ted W. Guffey, who preceded her in death, on September 26, 2008.

She was the mother of four children, W. Geoffrey Hodges (Mary), Melody Hodges Smith (Danny), Mark A. Hodges (LaShel), and Trisha J. Hodges (Laura).

She was blessed with eight grandchildren and fourteen grandchildren.

Geraldine was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Hodges in 2015, her brother James W. Lovell of Wilmore Ky.

She is survived by three siblings, Virginia Lovell High of Chandler, Arizona, Gene H. Lovell of Louisville, Ky., and Thomas Lovell of Monticello.

She will be missed by many friends and an extended family she loved and accepted as her own.

She had accepted Christ as the Lord of her life and was a member of the Meadow Creek Methodist Church and the Cornerstone Fellowship Church.  She loved her Lord, her family, and her friends.  May the love and joy she shared bring comfort to family and friends until reunion time in heaven.

A private graveside service will be held for family only with burial to follow in the Meadow Creek Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Mark Hodges Scholarship Fund, c/o Wayne County High School, 2 Kenny Davis Blvd, Monticello, KY 42633.
